CASE Accolades to U of G Staff

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

The University of Guelph received several honours from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The annual Accolades awards were presented Monday during a CASE District II conference in New York City. District II includes colleges and universities in Ontario, the eastern United States (New York, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.) and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The Communications and Public Affairs (C&PA) News Service team of Lori Bona Hunt and Deirdre Healey won a gold award for news writing.

Senior development manager Wendy Turner led a team in Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) that produced the 2010 Impact of Giving report, which won a silver award in the category for “best annual/institutional report.”

AA&D staff also won silver in the “best practices in educational fundraising” category for its new stakeholder engagement strategy led by senior development manager Lynn Campbell.

The C&PA team of Mary Dickieson and Susan Bubak received an honorable mention for the newsletter Zygote Plus, produced with a team in the College of Biological Science for college alumni.

CASE is one of the largest non-profit education associations in the world. Its membership includes more than 3,400 colleges, universities, independent elementary and secondary schools, and educational associates in 61 countries.
