The University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) presented five distinguished professorial teaching awards and a service award at a ceremony Oct. 25.

Honoured for teaching were Profs. Evie Adomait, College of Management and Economics; John Dawson, College of Biological Science; Brad Hanna, Ontario Veterinary College; Jay Lampert, College of Arts; and Jack Trevors, Ontario Agricultural College.

Thom Herrmann, a retired psychology professor, received the UGFA Service Award.

Created in 1984, the annual awards recognize excellence in teaching and learning by professors and academic librarians, including classroom instruction, student consultation and thesis supervision, course design, curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
